Pushpa 2 box office collection Day 51: Ideally, in any scenario in today’s times, it is very rare for a film to have a theatrical run for 50 days. And it is even more rare for a film to make over Rs 1800 crore worldwide. But then, not every film is Pushpa 2: The Rule, which definitely ruled the box office like no other film in recent memory. On Day 51, the film is expected to have made around 16 lakh, as per Sacnilk, which takes the nett domestic collections to a whopping Rs 1230.71 crore.
While Rs 16 lakh might not sound like a good figure independently, it has to be taken into account that Pushpa 2: The Rule has been in the theaters for nearly two months and has become the second biggest Indian grosser worldwide, behind Aamir Khan’s Dangal. Pushpa 2: The Rule also managed to break the record set by SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2, which was the second highest grosser until now.
Mythri Movie Makers, who backed the Allu Arjun-Sukumar film, managed to get an uptick in the collections as they released an extended version of the film, with 20 minutes of extra footage on January 17. In the seventh week, after the release of the extended cut, Pushpa 2: The Rule made Rs 5.85 crore.
Meanwhile, after its 50-day run, the makers of Pushpa 2 released a statement that read, “50 iconic days of Pushpa 2: The Rule in theatres. Indian cinema’s industry hit rewrote many records and set new benchmarks at the box office. Book your tickets today to enjoy the reloaded version.” The film earned over Rs 1800 crore at the global box office in just 32 days, as claimed by the producers, and surpassed the numbers of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2.
Pushpa 2: The Rule, which also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, and Sunil, is expected to adhere to the eight-week gap between the theatrical and streaming release, and is expected to be out on OTT next week.
