Dhanush in KuberaaKuberaa box office collection day 4 report: Dhanush's film fails the Monday test.

The recent trend among stars in Tamil cinema is to star in direct Telugu films that are made as Tamil-Telugu bilinguals. One of the pioneers of this trend has certainly been Dhanush, who seems to be ahead of the curve on this front, when compared to many of his peers. After making consistent runs in Hindi and English, Dhanush made his direct Telugu debut with Venky Atluri’s Sir, which was also simultaneously made in Tamil as Vaathi. Now, he is currently working with ace director Sekhar Kammula in Kuberaa, and the makers have revealed the release date of the much-awaited film.

Kuberaa, set to hit the screens on June 20, stars Nagarjuna, Jim Sarbh, and Rashmika Mandanna alongside Dhanush. In the new poster announcing the release date, we see Dhanush and Nagarjuna in an intense face-off as Jim Sarbh looks on. Set in Mumbai, the film is set to be a thriller, which is an interesting zone for Sekhar, who last made the Naga Chaitanya-Sai Pallavi romantic drama titled Love Story.

The film has a lot of firsts going for it as it marks the maiden collaboration between Nagarjuna and Dhanush, and the first Sekhar Kammula film to feature either of these stars. With music by Devi Sri Prasad and cinematography by Niketh Bommi, Kuberaa is backed by Sri Venkateswara Cinemas and Amigo Creation. Apart from Tamil and Telugu, the movie will also hit the screens in Malayalam and Hindi, making it a true-blue pan-Indian film.

Dhanush is set to have a packed 2025 as he already kickstarted the year with his own directorial, Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam, which hit the screens on February 21. His next directorial, Idly Kadai, which also stars him in the lead role alongside Nithya Menen and Arun Vijay is expected to be released on April 10, and his third film of the year, Kuberaa will hit the screens two months later in June. Meanwhile, he is also shooting for Aanand L Rai’s next, Tere Ishk Mein, which also stars Kriti Sanon in the lead.
