Overconfidence and a mistake in an app that the pitcher created two days before appearing on Shark Tank India 4 led to Nexera.Health losing out on a deal despite impressing the ‘sharks’ initially. On Tuesday’s episode, the sharks — despite being initially baffled by the first two pitches — gave deals to BL Fabrics and Culture Circle. However, the 19-year-old founder Himanshu Rajpurohit walked away empty-handed despite making quite an impression on Shark Tank India judges after claiming that this is his third start-up.
Asking for an investment of Rs 75 lakhs for 1 percent equity, Himanshu mentioned Ritesh Agarwal inspired him to set up business so early in life. Himanshu gave too much information too quickly and left the sharks overwhelmed. When Kunal Bahl tried asking him a question, the pitcher snapped back at him, offending Vineeta Singh. Vineeta said that nobody would want to invest in an app like this while Kunal asked the pitcher what about his business would appeal to the CFOs. Namita also pointed out that similar healthcare apps exist in the market so what differentiated Himanshu’s offering?
Vineeta grilled Himanshu after he tried to set a narrative about making money through his podcast, but when asked by Aman, Himanshu had no clear answer. Telling him to “drop the narrative”, Vineeta went on to raise her concerns about the brand. During cross-questioning, Himanshu told Vineeta that he was on the show to seek their mentorship and guidance, and could raise an investment from outside too. This statement left both Vineeta and Aman annoyed.
Later, Kunal Bahl also spotted a factual error in Himanshu’s app, only to learn that the pitcher built a new app two days before appearing on the show. Reacting to this Aman Gupta shared that he was shocked by this move. “I usually like to promote young talent, but why should I give you an investment?” he asked and said he was disappointed that the website had been made specially for the show. “You have a hangover of success that reflects in your third business. I was 95 percent there to make you an offer, but your attitude pissed me off. Ab mera mentorship nahi milega, because you are overconfident,” he said.
Kunal also revealed how his trust was broken in the pitcher and opted out, while Namita tapped out saying, “You are not doing anything different, and are was dismissive about competition, which is why I am out.” Ritesh appreciated Himanshu for building three businesses by the age of 19, and said, “You were in a rush with this pitch. While I cannot make you an offer, I can lend you any support or guidance you need outside.” Kunal callsed his business as a ‘nice to have venture’ before opting out.
