Actors Nandish Sandhu and Rashami Desai were getting all the love from their fans for their show Uttaran when they decided to get married. The two were in love and everything in their life was just perfect at the time, but things started changing soon after they started living together. In a recent interview, Nandish shared that it was at this point that they realised they were not in sync with each other. Nandish and Rashami tied the knot in 2012, but divorced three years later.

In a chat with Siddharth Kannan, Nandish said that they met on the sets of Uttaran, where they hit it off and eventually fell in love. He recalled that at the time, he felt like he was at the top of the world, making good money, earning love and appreciation, and being with ‘the one’ .When asked what went wrong, Nandish said that they were a bit immature at the time, and would often make a mountain out of a molehill. “I think it was a wise decision on both our parts that we mutually decided to go our separate ways. Things were not working out in terms of our thought processes. Our thoughts, our vision, our temperament was not the same, so I think we just hurried into it. We were young then, not very wise,” he said.

Nandish shared that he proposed after a whirlwind romance, and they get married soon after but after they started living together, they found out that the foundation of the relationship wasn’t strong enough. “Compatibility came into the picture when we started living together after getting married, and we realised we were not compatible,” he said, and added that they did not have the maturity to agree to disagree.

Recalling that time, Nandish said that he was deeply in love Rashami, and was heartbroken when the relationship fell apart. “When the separation happened, I felt everybody was pointing fingers at me. Everyone was looking at me like a culprit. There were things being said in the media about me, that I was physically abusive, I was a Casanova. I started feeling cornered. And it took a toll on my professional decisions too,” he said.

When asked if Rashami later clarified her stance and spoke in his defence, Nandish said that she never clarified anything, and added that they are not on friendly terms today. “We are not friends because I felt a little hurt about certain things that she said in interviews, and I thought that when I am maintaining dignity, then there is no point talking about this. I have never said anything bad about it,” he said.
