Veteran actress Sudha Shivpuri, well known for playing the role of ‘Baa’ in Ekta Kapoor’s hit TV serial ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’, died on Wednesday (May 20) morning. She was 77.
Mushtaq Sheikh, writer, commentator and a close associate of Ekta Kapoor, took to Twitter to share the sad news.
According to reports, the veteran actress hadn’t been keeping well since 2013. She had also suffered a heart attack in December 2013, following which she was in hospital for almost six months.
Sudha Shivpuri’s funeral will be held at the Oshiwara crematorium at 2.30 pm today.
Actress Divya Dutta also tweeted to share the news.
Apart from ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thhi’, Sudha Shivpuri has worked in TV shows like ‘Rajni’, ‘Rishtey’, ‘Sarhadein’ and ‘Bandhan’. She has also featured in movies like ‘Swami’, ‘Insaaf Ka Tarazu’, ‘Hamari Bahu Alka’, ‘The Burning Train’ and ‘Maya Memsaab’.
