Detox is followed not just during a diet but also for social media. Singer and host Aditya Narayan on Tuesday announced that he was taking a digital break, and went on to delete all his Instagram posts. He also shared how he wants to ‘spend more time in the real world than in the digital bubble’. The Indian Idol host added that he was working on his debut album and will be back in a couple of months.

Informing fans about the reason for his action, Aditya posted, “Before anyone jumps the gun, let me inform all my well wishers that I’m absolutely fine. I am on a digital break, happily spending time with my daughter, wife, parents & loved ones along with putting finishing touches to my debut album ‘Saansein’. Why have I deleted all posts from Instagram? Because it’s like my digital canvas, and I wish to erase my previous imprints and begin afresh, as if starting a new painting.

“I am also a firm believer that one must, every once in a while, disconnect from our current social confines, spend time along and look within, for, that is where I have gained life’s deepest insights. Good health is only so if it’s multi dimensional. Physical, mental & spiritual. I aspire to lead a wholesome life, and I feel like it’s time for me, in a way, to go back to school. I wish to acquire new skills and hone my old ones along with indulging in a few trivial activities. Long story short, I wish to spend more time in the real world, and not this digital bubble that a lot of us have made their reality. It’s as simple as that. See you in July,” he concluded.

But before he deactivated his profile, Aditya Narayan also addressed the controversy, about him talking about being replaced in a ‘big song‘. While the singer had maintained that he was upset about it, many publications, on the heels of Priyanka Chopra saying she was cornered, carried the news saying he was ‘exposing Bollywood’s dark side’.

Taking to Instagram stories, the singer requested to not take someone else’s words and twist his out of context. “I am not exposing any dark side of Bollywood. I have not been treated unfairly. I am not being targeted,” he wrote. Aditya further shared that he was asked about his next Hindi song and he had shared how he had sung one but that did not make it to the final cut. “As singers, we are not aware of the chronology of which singer sang first and which one sang last. All I know is that I was one of the probables. This is a normal practice in our music industry,” he wrote.

Aditya Narayan posted a series of Instagram stories clarifying his comments.

Thanking every opportunity that’s come his way, he said he doesn’t take anything for granted. Aditya added that the industry is a wonderful place to be working in, even when it’s hard to survive.

For the unversed, speaking with Hindustan Times, Aditya Narayan had earlier said, “I had sung a very big song this year, and my rendition was replaced at the last minute. This particular time I was very upset. Maybe I will talk about it more in the future when a little bit of time has passed.”

“It is out and a big hit. But at the last moment, the makers decided, and not the music composer, to go the conventional way and pick another singer. They replaced me with the best, so it’s not a bad feeling really. I was looking forward to the song, but it’s a part and parcel of life. I am just happy that these composers are calling me,” he added.

Aditya Narayan was last seen hosting Indian Idol 13
