Tamil star Vijay was in the US for the pre-production of his upcoming film with director Venkat Prabhu. The actor was in Los Angeles for a photo shoot for the upcoming film, which is tentatively called Thalapathy 68. It is said that the actor was supposed to return ahead of Leo’s audio launch (September 30). However, he returned on Wednesday to meet his father SA Chandrasekhar who was admitted to a private hospital for a heart-related surgery.
For a while now, speculations suggest all is not well between Vijay and SA Chandrasekhar as the latter started a political party in the name of Vijay. In return, Vijay filed a case against his father for using his name and also ordered his fans not to be associated with the party. SA Chandrasekhar later disbanded the party.
The recent picture of Vijay and his father hints that the actor has made up with him. Earlier, in an interview with a Tamil YouTube channel, SAC opened up about the alleged fallout with Vijay. He said, “I have never let Vijay down. Generally, it is said that sons like their mothers more than their dads. But Vijay is in contrast to that, he likes me more. However, we don’t interact much. We both still know our mutual love for each other.”
SAC has been instrumental in the launch of Vijay in Tamil cinema. Vijay’s first four films were directed by his father. Though many of their collaborations were flops, a few films like Rasigan and Deva worked decently in favour of the actor. They last worked together in Pandhayam (2008), in which Vijay played himself in a cameo. SAC last directed Naan Kadavul Illai, which was released this January, and turned out to be a box office disaster.
On the other hand, Vijay is awaiting the release of Leo, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, on October 19.
