‘Thalapathy’ Vijay to play ‘torchbearer of democracy’ in final film before joining politics, see new poster here

Tamil star Vijay will be seen on screen for one last time in an untitled new film, which received a long-awaited release date on Saturday. This will be his last project before he enters active Tamil Nadu politics. Vijay, who recently starred in The Greatest of All Time, will play the ‘torchbearer of democracy’ in his final project.

Backed by KVN Productions, the new film will be directed by HN Vinoth. The makers dropped the new poster of the film, which billed Vijay as “the torchbearer of the democracy”. It is tentatively called Thalapathy 69. The production house took to X and shared the first poster of the film, which featured a painted hand, holding a lit torch. The movie is set to hit the big screens in October 2025.

The film will have a wide opening and will release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. The film’s music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, and it will be coproduced by Jagadish Palanisamy and Lohith NK.

Vijay, one of the biggest stars in Tamil cinema history, announced his entry into politics earlier this year by launching his political party called Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam. He is currently seen in the actioner The Greatest of All Time (GOAT), which is playing in cinemas. The Venkat Prabhu directorial features him in a triple role.
