Mysskin’s Psycho to release on December 27

Psycho marks Mysskin’s third collaboration with Ilaiyaraaja.</span>

Mysskin directorial Psycho, starring Udhayanidhi Stalin, Nithya Menen and Aditi Rao Hydari, is all set to hit theaters on December 27.

Producer Arun Mozhi Manickam of Double Meaning Productions tells indianexpress.com, “Ever since Mysskin narrated the script to us, we have been waiting to see Psycho on the big screen. This project is close to our heart. As a team, we felt the December holiday season would be an apt time to get it released. Before the teaser was launched, we weren’t sure about how it would be received. But we are glad that the response has exceeded our expectations.”

Arun adds, “Ilaiyaraaja sir’s background score has taken the film to the next level”, insisting “the credit goes to Mysskin equally”.

While Udhayanidhi Stalin plays Gauthaman, a visually impaired person, director Ram is said to play a cop. However, we await an official confirmation.

Reports suggest that Psycho has been inspired by the popular Buddhist tale of Angulimala, which revolves around a serial killer who becomes a monk after meeting Buddha.

With cinematography by Tanveer Mir, Psycho marks Mysskin’s third collaboration with Ilaiyaraaja after Nandalala (2010) and Onaayum Aattukkuttiyum (2013).

Also starring Renuka, Shaji Chen, Aadukalam Naren and Singampuli among others, Psycho was initially supposed to have Shanthnu Bhagyaraj in the lead role.
