The audio launch of Idli Kadai, starring Dhanush in the lead role, was held on September 14 in Chennai. One of the highlights of the evening was Dhanush’s brief stage appearance with his elder son Linga. A viral video shows the actor-filmmaker, dressed in a veshti, dancing with his son as music director GV Prakash Kumar looks on.
Dhanush, who also serves as the director and co-producer of Idli Kadai, joined composer G. V. Prakash for a live performance on stage. During the act, Dhanush and his son Linga broke into an impromptu dance to the song “Enjami Thandhaane” from the film. The heartwarming moment ended with Linga hugging his father and touching his feet.
Idli Kadai draws inspiration from Dhanush’s childhood experiences in his native village. During the audio launch of the film, the actor revealed, “An idli kadai is a very important aspect of my childhood. We didn’t have any money during our childhood to buy idlis from the idli kadai in our place. So we started collecting flowers from the fields and sold them for money. My sister, cousins, and I would wake up at 4 am to do this every day so that we can have idlis from that shop. Nothing to this day beats the taste of those 4-5 idlis we bought with our hard-earned money. This film is my tribute to that place.”

Idli Kadai also stars Nithya Menon, Arun Vijay, Parthiban, and Raj Kiran, among others. The movie is all set to release on October 1.
