Until pictures of Bobby Simha celebrating his birthday on the sets of Indian 2 went viral on the Internet, nobody knew he was a part of the Kamal Haasan-starrer.

The National Award-winning actor, who was last seen in Rajinikanth’s Petta, is currently shooting for the Shankar-directorial in Ajmer, Rajasthan. According to sources, Simha will be seen in the role of a police officer with grey shades.

The source added, “It is an important character and Bobby Simha will have combination scenes with both Kamal Haasan and Siddharth.”

Indian 2, which went on floors early this year, also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet, Vivek, Samuthirakani, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Vidyut Jammwal and Anil Kapoor.

Initially, the makers had approached Ajay Devgn to essay the role of a villain. Since his dates clashed with his Hindi projects, Devgn couldn’t commit to this ambitious sequel.

Bankrolled by Lyca Productions, Indian 2 has music by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Rathnavelu and editing by Sreekar Prasad.
