While Bollywood is currently in the midst of the wedding season, Kollywood is also gearing up for a star-studded wedding. Aishwarya, the eldest daughter of actor Arjun Sarja, is all set to marry Umapathy, the son of actor Thambi Ramaiah. This highly anticipated union is expected to be a grand affair, adding to the excitement and glamour in the industry.
“It’s true. It started with the reality show Survivor Arjun sir anchored and Umapathy was a contestant. Looks like sir was impressed with his attitude and that’s how it all started,” actor-director Thambi Ramaiah told The Hindu. He also mentioned that he was looking for a prospective bride for Umapathy for a while when, a few months ago, his wife asked Ramaiah to not look any more. “I gave him time till my birthday (June 19) to give us a name and ten days before that, he told me about Arjun sir’s daughter.”
Mentioning that Umapathy wanted the marriage to happen this year itself, Ramaiah added, “A few days back, both the families met at the Anjaneyar temple that Arjun sir had built and decided to proceed further. We again caught up recently at Arjun sir’s house. Sir and I will soon fix the wedding date and share it officially on Umapathy’s birthday on November 8. It will be in January 2024.”
While Umapathy marked his entry into the world of cinema by playing the lead role in the Tamil comedy thriller Adhagappattathu Magajanangalay (2017), Aishwarya made her cinematic debut with the action comedy Pattathu Yaanai (2013).
Umapathy’s last film appearance was in Thanne Vandi (2021), while Aishwarya was last seen in the romantic drama Prema Baraha (2018).
