Last month, actor Ravi Mohan announced the launch of his production house, Ravi Mohan Studios, and revealed that he would be making his directorial debut with the Tamil film An Ordinary Man. Recently, the actor shared a quirky promo introducing audiences to the film’s hero, played by Yogi Babu. The video shows Yogi meeting Ravi for the first time as the two discuss the project. Packed with self-aware humor and light-hearted jabs at Ravi’s transition from actor to director, the promo sets the tone for what promises to be an entertaining film.

The video features an extended dress rehearsal in which Yogi Babu tries on a variety of costumes and looks in an attempt to match Ravi Mohan’s vision for the “ordinary man” character. However, none of the outfits seem to impress the actor-turned-director, who appears to be searching for something simpler and more authentic. Finally, when Yogi slips into a basic banian and lungi, the character instantly clicks for Ravi, who exclaims with delight, “Finally! It’s been so long since we’ve seen you like this on screen!” When Yogi points out that there’s nothing extraordinary about the outfit, Ravi responds with a smile, “What’s more extraordinary than the character of an ordinary man?”
