Actor Suriya’s private security officer, Anthony George Prabhu, was recently scammed of Rs. 42 lakhs by the actor’s domestic help and her family members. According to The Economic Times report, this financial fraud was part of a larger financial operation that involved multiple family members of the domestic help who had been working with Suriya. The security officer, who was enticed into the scheme with the promise of high returns, filed the complaint only recently, which opened up a Pandora’s box of financial irregularities run by the maid and her son.

According to The Times of India, the issue began to escalate after Anthony George started to invest money in return for promises of high returns in a short time by the maid and her family, as per the case filed in Mambalam police station. The initial small investment became a major scam, only after the complainant lost all contact with the maid and her family, who had made all the guarantees of return of the several lakhs that were invested.
The domestic help named Sulochana and her family members gained the Private Security Officers’ trust by providing some small incentive return on the investment, which kept the financial fraud going on. The Times of India reported that Sulochana and her family even gave Anthony George Prabhu some 30 grams of gold in return for his investment for the initial payment to gain the trust of the complainant. There has not been any response from the actor on this issue.
