Actress Sydney Sweeney recently opened up about how the paparazzi are putting her safety at risk. In an interview with Glamour magazine, she shared that photographers recently surrounded her house in Florida and even shouted at her family. They tried to make a deal, asking her to come outside in a bikini so they could take photos.
“They said, ‘If you tell her to just come outside in a bikini, I’ll take pictures and then I’ll leave you alone,’” Sweeney recalled. She also dismissed rumors that she calls the paparazzi on herself, asking, “Why would I call the paparazzi to take pictures of me at my own house when my baby cousins and family are there and I’m in my backyard? Why would I ever want that?”
While having them around is frustrating, her main concern is the risk to her safety when her location is revealed through their photos. “When those photos go out, then my actual safety is at risk,” Sweeney explained. “Everyone knows where I am. Now there’s boats that go by, and I literally hear them say, ‘This is Sydney Sweeney’s house.’ It becomes a star tour in my front yard.”
Sweeney, who is known for keeping her personal life private, maintains a close circle of friends from childhood. She keeps her engagement to businessman Jonathan Davino low-profile, and most of her friends are not in the entertainment industry.
Despite the challenges, Sweeney remains focused on body positivity and her fans. She shared how young fans have told her that she helped them feel more confident with their bodies. “That means a lot to me because I really believe in empowering others and feeling powerful with your body and embracing your sexuality,” Sweeney said. “And if you have boobs, great. Flaunt them.”
