Big release for Rajinikant’s Lingaa

Opens in 4000 plus screens worldwide in Tamil and Telugu languages

Huge cut-out of Lingaa at Aurora in Mumbai

Rajinikant seems to have broken all records. His latest release Lingaa has released in more than 3000 screens in India and over 1000 screens worldwide for Tamil and Telugu release, a record apparently not set by any Indian star. Eros International’s Rajinikanth-Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka Shetty-starrer released on the Thalaiva’s 64th birthday, December 12.
Rajinikant’s fans are travelling miles and flocking to the theaters to watch the superstar on the big screen. Apparently, the morning shows had been booked well in advance and huge cut-outs of the actor have been put across the streets in the Southern part of India.
In Mumbai too, the Aurora theater in Matunga witnessed people coming in huge numbers on the first day of release itself. Here too, there have been huge cut-outs put up. And poojas were held for the superstar.
The film has Sonakshi making her Tamil debut. Directed by K.S. Ravikumar and produced by Rockline Venkatesh, the Hindi version of the film is set to release on December 26.
