Ahead of the release of his ‘comeback’ album ’51 Glorious Days’, singer Yo Yo Honey Singh was set to perform at Mohali, Punjab, alongside stars like Neeru Bajwa, Jacqueline Fernandez, Soundarya Sharma, and Bismil. However, things went south when the ‘High Heels’ singer reached the venue with a large security team alongside him. The organisers reportedly explained to the singer that there is enough security present at the venue, but Honey Singh refused to enter without his own team.
When Singh reached the venue, the organising team told him that they already had their own security present at the venue, including people from the Punjab Police. However, Singh did not agree with the rules and regulations of the event, and an argument ensued. A source told IndiaToday that, “As per the protocols, they did not allow any other external members on the ground for anyone. However, Honey Singh was persistent in getting his own safety unit as a precautionary measure. While the organisers understood and respected his demands, given the overall security plans, they could not agree to it. After a long discussion with the organisers, the musician left the venue, refusing to perform.” Singh is yet to comment on the whole episode.
Since the release of the Netflix documentary Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous, about the singer’s life, ’51 Glorious Days’ is going to be the first album, as the much-anticipated project ‘International Villager 2’ never saw the light of day. He recently revealed the album cover, along with the first look of the title track, ‘Mafia’. He hasn’t yet revealed the artists he is going to collaborate with in the album, but actor Nargis Fakhri features in the official poster and will presumably be a part of several music videos as well.
On the way to his album release, Singh has been releasing one single after another, including ‘Teriyan Meriyan’ with Shekhar Kaushal, ‘When and Where’ with Shehnaaz Gill for the movie Ikk Kudi, and ‘Mashooqa’ featuring newcomer Charmee Zaveri. ’51 Glorious Days’ will release on September 26.
