Picking yourself up after an awkward moment can be rather challenging, especially when it happens in front of thousands of people during a Coldplay concert. The lead singer of the band, Chris Martin, gave birth to such a moment when, during the kiss cam segment of the concert, they panned the camera towards astronomer CEO Andy Byron, who was enjoying the music with the company’s HR chief, Kristin Cabot. What followed was utter chaos, with Chris realising that he might have done and said something he wasn’t supposed to.
The moment Andy and Kristin realised they were on the jumbotron, both covered their faces and quickly ducked out of the way. Chris remarked, “Look at these two. Either they are having an affair or just very shy,” and it quickly dawned upon him that the former might be a very real possibility seeing their reaction. Reportedly after the incident, Chris was heard saying, “Holy sh*t. I hope we didn’t do something bad.” The band, the crowd and our confused instigator Chris all tried to move forward as the singer was visibly worried about what had just happened. Later, the kiss-cam showed another couple on the screen, and in an attempt to cool things down and poke some fun at himself, Chris asked them, “Are you two a legitimate couple?”

A lot has happened since the initial incident; however, most of it is speculation at this point without any confirmation from viable sources. An account on X (formerly Twitter), which is reportedly a parody account, posted a long apology on Andy’s behalf which mentions the tycoon’s company, family, and especially his wife. Chris also recently went through a split with his long-time girlfriend and fiancée, actor Dakota Johnson.
He is currently amidst the Music of the Spheres World Tour along with his bandmates. The tour that started back in 2022 has gone through more than 40 countries, including an electrifying detour in India. The tour will most likely conclude in September of this year, bringing one of the most successful and longest-running music tours of all time to a close.
