Bobbi Kristina Brown is no longer in a medically induced coma but she continues to remain unresponsive, said her grandmother Cissy Houston.
Bobbi’s father Bobby Brown had earlier said that his daughter with Whitney Houston was “awake” but his lawyer later clarified the comment.
Cissy seemed less hopeful about Bobbi’s recovery, saying her brain damage may be “irreversible”, reported Us magazine.
“I have just returned from visiting my granddaughter Bobbi Kristina in the hospital and while she is no longer in a medically induced coma she has a tracheotomy and according to the doctors she has global and irreversible brain damage and remains unresponsive,” Houston said.

“Meeting with the doctors and understanding that she can live in this condition for a lifetime truly saddens me. We can only trust in God for a miracle at this time. Keep us in your prayers.”
During a performance Bobby Brown had said that “Bobbi is awake” but his lawyer later said while she has improved and “will live a long life”, the “quality of her life will not be known for years to come.”
The aspiring singer was hospitalised after being found facedown and unresponsive in a bathtub on January 31 by her
boyfriend — who is currently seeking treatment in rehab — Nick Gordon. Her case remains under criminal investigation.
