Lokah Chapter 1 box office collection day 6: The film has been performing better than previous Malayalam hits--Manjummel Boys and Premalu. It is likely to beat their lifetime collection.

Lokah Chapter 1 box office collection day 6: Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, produced by Dulquer Salmaan, has become the Manjummel Boys of 2025. The film was released with minimal promotions but has enjoyed tremendous word-of-mouth. After opening at Rs 2.7 crore on Thursday, the film recorded a collection of Rs 10 crore on its first Sunday, followed by Rs 7.2 crore on its first Monday and Rs 7.35 crore on Tuesday. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film’s grand total stands at Rs 38.95 crore, which well ahead of its break even point. The Malayalam film, starring actress Kalyani Priyadarshan, is reported to have been made on a budget of Rs 30-33 crore.

On Tuesday, the film witnessed an overall occupancy of 52.41% in the Malayalam language. The film had an occupancy of 22.53% in Telugu. It is also being screened in the Tamil language, but has limited shows. The film, which released with 649 shows across the country, saw a massive surge in the number of shows over the weekend. On Tuesday, the film had a total of 574 shows in the Telugu language alone and about 1236 shows in the Malayalam language. A Hindi dubbed version will be released this week.

Meanwhile, Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor-starrer Param Sundari, which opened at Rs 7.25 crore with around 4908 shows reduced to a collection of Rs 4.25 crore with 4293 shows. This film has been made on an estimated budget of Rs 60 crore. In six days of its release, the romantic-comedy film has managed to collect Rs 34.25 crores. Directed by Tushar Jalota, the film is produced by Maddock Films–the production house behind hits like the Stree franchise, Munjya and Bhediya, among others.

What do we know about Lokah?

Lokah, produced under Dulquer Salmaan’s banner Wayfarer Films, is set as the first installment in the planned Cinematic Universe. The film stars Kalyani Priyadarshan as a female superhero, and also features Sandy, Arun Kurian and Premalu fame Naslen. Directed by Dominic Arun, the film has already become the third highest grossing Malayalam film of 2025 after Prithviraj Sukumaran’s L2: Empuraan and Mohanlal’s Thudarum.

Lokah has been doing much better than previous Malayalam sleeper hits Manjummel Boys and Premalu. While Manjummel Boys opened at Rs 3.9 crore and earned about Rs 25 crore in six days of its release, Premalu opened at Rs 90 lakh and earned over Rs 12 crore in six days. Eventually these films collected Rs 240.5 crore and Rs 131.18 crore worldwide. While Manjummel Boys became the highest grossing Malayalam film of all time overtaking the critically acclaimed film 2018 (2023), Premalu became the sixth highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time.

Manjummel Boys was made on a reported budget of Rs 20 crore. Premalu was made on a moderate budget of Rs 10 crore.
