War 2 box office collection day 12: Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s War 2 slipped further at the box office as it earned Rs 2.25 crore on the 12th day of release. Less than two weeks after release, the high-octane action drama has stormed past Rs 224 crore, emerging as one of 2025’s biggest blockbusters but has still failed to achieve what was expected of it.

It earned Rs 2.25 crore on Monday, which was a significant drop from its Sunday (day 11) earnings of Rs 7.25 crore, an improvement on its Saturday (day 10) collection of Rs 6.50 crore. It seems unlikely that War 2 will manage to cross its predecessor War’s box office collection, which earned Rs 318 crore in its lifetime, as per Bollywood Hungama.

War 2 domestic box office collection

Prior to that, War 2 hovered around the Rs 5 crore mark for two days, after falling from its earlier threshold of Rs 9 crore. However, War 2 hasn’t earned in double digits ever since its opening weekend, when it amassed Rs 52 crore, 57.85 crore, Rs 33.25 crore, and Rs 32.65 crore on its opening day (Thursday, August 14), day 2 (Friday, Independence Day), day 3 (Saturday, August 16), and day 4 (Sunday, August 17) respectively.

As per Sacnilk, the current box office collection of War 2 in India stands at Rs 224.25 crore across all three languages. The original Hindi version reserves the lion’s share, followed by the dubbed Telugu and Tamil versions respectively. The Telugu version was initially aided by the presence of Telugu superstar Jr NTR, but its daily share has gone down to less than Rs 1 crore for the past four days now.

War 2 catches up with Mahavatar Narsimha at BO

War 2 may soon outpace Ashwin Kumar’s mythological animated film Mahavatar Narsimha, which has collected Rs 233 crore, since its release on July 25. On Monday, its collection, Rs 1.25 crore, was lower than that of War 2 (Rs 2.25 crore). These are the only two films which are a part of the Rs 200 crore club this year.

All the other hits have either not breached the Rs 200 crore mark or have performed exceptionally well like Mohit Suri’s romantic drama Saiyaara (Rs 327.65 crore), becoming the biggest hit starring newcomers. Marking the debut of Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, it’s also backed by Aditya Chopra’s Yash Raj Films. Beyond that, there’s only Laxman Utekar’s period action film Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal, which became Hindi cinema’s biggest domestic hit by amassing Rs 602 crore.

War 2 in YRF spy universe

War 2 is also the only member of the YRF Spy Universe that’s part of the Rs 200 crore club but is unlikely to go ahead. While it’s surpassed the domestic earnings of the inaugural film, Kabir Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger  (2012), which earned Rs 199 crore, it’s far from beating that of other instalments like Ali Abbas Zafar’s Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), Manish Sharma’s Tiger 3 (2023), and the first part, Siddharth Anand’s War (2019), all of which belong to the Rs 300 crore club. Then there’s Anand’s Pathaan (2023), which is the cinematic universe’s biggest hit and the only member of the coveted Rs 500 crore club.

War 2 has another three days to perform, including the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi, before it starts competing with Tushar Jalota’s romantic comedy Param Sundari, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, which releases this Friday on August 29. It’s backed by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, the force behind Hindi cinema’s biggest hits like Stree 2 and Chhaava.
