Weeks after the Ranveer Allahbadia controversy erupted, Tanmay Bhat has shared a reaction video on YouTube. In the clip, the comedian addresses the controversy, revealing that before the uproar, he had invited Ranveer to participate in a reaction video. However, since the controversy, the YouTuber has stopped responding to his messages.
The video features stand-up comedians Rohan Joshi, Kaustubh Agarwal, Piyush Sharma, Kushagra Srivastava, and Ravi Gupta. Earlier, Rohan, Kaustubh, and Ravi had appeared on Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent.
Tanmay Bhat begins his video by reading out a comment from a netizen on his page. The comment reads, “Would you rather keep doing reaction episodes or bring Ranveer once and end it?” The remark left the entire panel in splits as it closely resembled the inappropriate question that had landed Ranveer in trouble.
Ranveer had asked, “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once to make it stop forever?”
Later, Tanmay Bhat recalled his interaction with Ranveer Allahbadia, sharing, “Just two weeks before this whole thing happened, I texted Ranveer and asked him to do a reaction video on fitness memes,” he added humorously, “He isn’t responding—I wonder what happened.”
As the reaction video progresses, a meme is shown that juxtaposes Ranveer Allahbadia’s scream of “Ho” from India’s Got Latent with the sound of a police siren. The entire panel bursts into laughter at the clip. At one point, Tanmay asks his fellow panelists if anyone plays video games. In a melancholic yet humorous tone, Ravi Gupta replies, “Samay used to. He played chess a lot.”
A clip then plays, showing comedian Sunil Pal criticizing India’s Got Latent on a TV news channel. While the panelists were expected to react with humour, Kushagra Srivastava instead expressed frustration over Pal’s comments. “Sunil Pal triggered all of us,” he said. Tanmay agreed, admitting, “We all forgot our jokes.” Kushagra continued, “Gussa aa gaya sabko (Everyone got angry).” The video also highlights how actor-model Manvi Taneja slammed Sunil Pal on the same live news broadcast, calling him irrelevant and untalented.
Following Ranveer Allahbadia’s controversial remark, multiple FIRs were filed against him, Samay Raina, and other panelists who were present on that episode of India’s Got Latent. In the wake of the backlash, Samay removed all episodes of the show from his YouTube channel.
