Swara Bhasker opens up about her interfaith marriage with Fahad Ahmad, how it impacted their relationship: ‘If you are a good person…’

Swara Bhasker and Fahad Ahmad got married in 2023, and welcomed their daughter Raabiyaa later that year. Swara opened up on whether their different religions had any impact on their marriage.

Actor Swara Bhasker got married to politician Fahad Ahmad in 2023, and in a recent interview, Swara was asked if they faced any problems as theirs was an interfaith union. Swara and Fahad met in 2020, and were friends for a while before they confessed their love for each other, and eventually got married. In the chat, Swara shared that one’s values are more important than anything else, and she knew that Fahad was the one after she realised that she felt safe with him.

Talking to Hauterrfly, Farah was asked to answer in a rapid-fire format about any problems she might have faced in her interfaith union, and she said, “No problem.” She added, “I have discovered that when you are a good person, and an honest person… That’s the most important thing, all the other differences are…” Swara then added, “My realisation of love with Fahad specifically, was the realisation that I am safe with this person. And that he will never hurt me and he will never betray me.”

Previously, in a chat with SCREEN, Swara and Fahad shared that they want their daughter Raabiyaa to be exposed to all cultures and religions. She said, “I don’t disbelieve in anything. Now that our daughter, Raabiyaa Rama, is born, I keep telling Fahad, ‘Let’s perform all the rituals associated with all religions and cultures so that she’s protected.’ We did all the rituals for her from every side, and then I was like, ‘Koi Christian ritual bhi hai kya? (Is there any Christian ritual?)’” She added, “When she coughs or is unwell, I ask Fahad to recite a prayer.”

Swara took a break from appearing in films after she welcomed her daughter Raabiyaa in 2023. She and her husband are currently participating in the television show Pati, Patni Aur Panga. Swara was last seen in the 2022 film Jahaan Chaar Yaar.
