"The entire nation is fighting against the coronavirus. And there are many who are jealous of the good work that the Maharashtra government has done with respect to tackling Covid-19. Now some of these have busied themselves with playing dirty politics. My family and particularly my name is being dragged through the mud in the case. I have no connection whatsoever with this case.
I am not even remotely related to this matter. In fact, Bollywood is one of the most important parts of Mumbai city, thousands of people depend on it for their daily bread and butter. Obviously I am closely related to many of them, and there is nothing wrong in it.
Sushant Singh Rajput's demise is not only very unfortunate but is also very tragic. Maharashtra police is deeply investigating the matter. But those people who don't believe in law and order, are the same people who are talking in such a nonsensical manner. And while making wild allegations, are trying to mislead the investigation.
Being the grandson of Balasaheb Thackeray, I am hereby saying this that I will never do anything which damages the prestige of our party Shiv Sena and our Thackeray family. The people who are making baseless allegations should take note of this. Whoever has any kind of information regarding the case, they should only share it with the police. I assure you that police will definitely investigate whatever comes to their knowledge. Till now I have been very patient regarding this matter. People should not be under the false impression that they can defame the government and the Thackeray family with their baseless allegations," wrote the Maharashtra cabinet minister on Tuesday.

ANI quoted Rhea Chakraborty's lawyer Satish Maneshinde in one of tweets, "There can't be transfer of a case which had no legal basis for Bihar to get involved. At most, it would be a 'Zero FIR' transferable to Mumbai Police. Transfer of a case,on which they had no jurisdiction, to CBI has no legal sanctity."
Indianexpress.com's Explained Section writes about whether two police forces can investigate the same case. "A case can be formally transferred to another agency like the CBI, but two agencies cannot probe the same FIR simultaneously. In cases where a money laundering aspect emerges, the Enforcement Directorate registers an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) and restricts its probe to the money laundering aspect of it. Even in the Sushant Singh Rajput case, after his father alleged to Bihar Police that money had been transferred to unidentified accounts from Rajput’s bank account, the ED registered an ECIR under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). However, under regular crimes, if an offence has taken place in Mumbai and the family is in Bihar, as per law, they can go to the nearest police station in Bihar and register an FIR. The police station is duty bound to register a “zero FIR” and transfer the case to the police station under whose jurisdiction the crime has taken place."

"Gulshan, mera bachcha. Aaj mera din hai. Aaj tumhara din hai. Aaj humara din hai. Aaj rakhi hai. Paitees (35) saal ke baad yeh avsar hai jab pooja ki thaal saji hai. Aarti ka diya bhi jal raha hai. Haldi-chandan ka teeka bhi hai. Mithaai bhi hai. Bas woh chehra nahi hai jiski aarti utaar saku. Woh lalat nahi hai jispar teeka laga saku. Woh kalai nahi jis par rakhi baandh saku. Woh muh nahi jise meetha kar saku. Woh maatha nahi jeese choom saku."
"Woh bhai nahi jise gale laga saku. Varsho pehle jab tum aaye the toh jeewan jagmag ho utha tha. Jab the toh ujala tha. Ab jab tum nahi ho toh mujhe samajh nahi aata ki kya karun? Tumhare bagair mujhe jeena nahi aata. Kabhi socha nahi ki aisa bhi hoga. Yeh din hoga par tum nahi honge. Dher sari cheeze humne saath-saath seekhi. Tumhare bina rehna main akele kaise seekhun? Humesha tumhari, Rani di (sic)."
