Shah Rukh Khan has done it again, King Khan’s latest Diwali release Happy New Year has collected a whopping Rs 44.62 crore on its opening day.
The movie, which also has Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Vivaan Shah and Sonu Sood, had opened to mixed reviews. But as was expected from an SRK Diwali release, the movie got off to a super start. (Read review: Happy New Year)
According to figures released by Red Chillies Entertainments Pvt Ltd, Happy New Year has collected Rs 42.62 Crs in Hindi, 1.43 Crs in Telugu dub and 0.92 cr in Tamil dub.
HNY has become the highest opening day ranker in Indian films so far.
