Aamir Khan is currently occupied with the filming of his upcoming movie Sitaare Zameen Par, where he shares the screen with Genelia Deshmukh and Darsheel Safary. Directed by RS Prasanna, known for Shubh Mangal Savdhan, both Aamir and Genelia recently joined the film’s sets.

Recently, a behind-the-scenes (BTS) photo featuring the two actors went viral online, showing them sharing a delightful moment as they laugh gracefully, capturing the hearts of fans worldwide. Sitaare Zameen Par marks the first collaboration between Aamir and Genelia.

Following the screening of Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies in mid-February, Aamir, who co-produced the film, informed the media that he had already begun shooting for Sitaare Zameen Par. “We are trying to release it on Christmas this year. Let’s hope it comes by Christmas,” he noted.

“Sitaare Zameen Par is the next level of Taare Zameen Par, it is like part 2. It is not the same story and the characters are also not the same,” he had mentioned in an earlier interview during the promotions of Laapataa Ladies.

“The theme is the same but the difference is, unlike Taare Zameen Par, which left you with tears, Sitaare Zameen Par will leave in laughter. Prasanna is directing it and it is an entertaining film. We are looking at the same topic but with a different perspective,” he added.

Aamir’s last film appearance in the lead role was in Advait Chandan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, a remake of the 1994 American film Forrest Gump. Though it arrived amid significant anticipation, the film failed to impress viewers and ended up being a box office bomb.

Genelia, on the other hand, has been very choosy with her film choices, and her last two movies — the Marathi romantic drama Ved (2022), which marked her husband Riteish Deshmukh’s directorial debut, and the Hindi comedy drama Trial Period— received positive responses.
