Shah Rukh Khan celebrated his 58th birthday on Thursday and to mark the special day, the actor dropped the first teaser of his upcoming film Dunki. Shah Rukh, who has had a fantastic year with Pathaan and Jawan, met with his fans and spoke about his upcoming films and also put up a little dance performance. But before he started the show, King Khan remembered his fan Mohammad Ashraf, the founder of one of his biggest fan clubs, as he passed away recently.
Before starting the show, SRK said a few words in his fan’s memory and thanked him for starting a community that brought together all SRK fans. He said, “Mohammad Ashraf, who unfortunately was suffering from an illness for the past two years, passed away recently. He is no more. I have a small prayer for him. I would like everyone to pray for him in their hearts, then we’ll get on with the show. I know wherever Mohammad is, he will be very happy. He started to bring us together in a small way but it became so much bigger. Big thank you to Mohammad wherever you are. God bless you. Rest in peace, Mohammad.”
2023 has been the biggest year for Shah Rukh’s three-decade long career so far, as he has already grossed over Rs 2000 crore worldwide with the two film, and while the actor has minimised his public appearances, he has increased the frequency of speaking to his fans. The promotions of both Pathaan and Jawan had the actor addressing his fans directly via social media and success meets. Shah Rukh frequently hosts #AskSRK sessions on X (formerly Twitter) and shares candid responses to his fans’ queries.
He is now looking forward to the release of Dunki, which also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal and Boman Irani. Speaking about his film at the fan event, SRK shared that the film has been in the making for over two years. He also shared that he saw the film a few days ago and believes that audience of all age groups will enjoy Dunki. “I saw the film a few days back. I feel happy when the people around who sit with me to watch the film feel happy with the film and in this film I can sense that everyone from all ages will like it,” he said.
Shah Rukh Khan is yet to announce his next project after Dunki.
