Actor Shah Rukh Khan’s production house Red Chillies’ visual effects branch has worked on several films over the years, and to commemorate its 17th anniversary, Red Chillies has released a show-reel featuring their prominent work. The over six-minute long video includes shots from films such as Bulbbul, Phillauri, Zero, Ittefaq, Shershaah, Laal Singh Chaddha, Fan and many others.

Red Chillies VFX was founded by Shah Rukh Khan and also counts Keitan Yadav and Haresh Hingorani as co-founders. The company has provided visual effects for some of Bollywoods’s biggest entertainers, including RaOne and Krrish 3.

In Shah Rukh Khan‘s film Happy New Year, Dubai’s famous Palm Jumeriah was created with VFX, as were the snow clad mountains shown in Dilwale’s song Gerua. A very interesting snippet in the video shows Aamir Khan’s physical appearance being altered for certain shots in Laal Singh Chadha, just as Shah Rukh Khan’s face was altered in the 2016 film Fan. The video also shows the transformation of actor’s Tabu’s character Manjulika in the blockbuster film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.

Many fans commented on the video, praising Red Chillies’ work. One fan commented, “Thankyou so much SRK for giving this revolutionary gift to indian cinema”. While another one wrote, “Ra- One was one of the best vfx movie….. World was not ready for that masterpiece.”

Interestingly, many users also commented that the producers of Prabhas and Kriti Sanon’s Adipurush should have hired Red Chillies VFX for their film. For the unversed, the teaser of Adipurush received a lot of flak from the audience for its poor visual effects, which resulted in the delay of the film. One person commented, “Aadipurush ko bacha lete ye (They could have saved Adipurush).” Another user wrote, “Adipurush ka vfx vi sabal lete toh aacha hota (It would have been nice had they handled the VFX of Adipurush).”

The next film for Red Chillies VFX is going to be Shah Rukh’s Jawan. The film is directed by Tamil director Atlee and also stars Nayanthara in the lead role. The film is slated to release in June this year.
