Senior citizen complains to Akshay Kumar how toilet donated by him at Juhu is rusted, actor ‘promises to address this to BMC’. Watch

In 2018, a year after his social awareness film Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Akshay Kumar sponsored a mobile toilet near Juhu beach. The actor bore an overall expenses of Rs 10 lakh to get the portable toilet installed in the area. Six years later, on Wednesday, a senior citizen approached the actor outside a polling booth in Mumbai and shared that the toilet is completely rusted, and requested him to install another toilet. A video of the same is going viral on social media.

In the video, the senior citizen is seen approaching Akshay Kumar, who shook hands with the actor. During his conversation with the star, the old man complained, “The toiled you installed is rusted. I have been still maintaining it for the past four years.” A surprised Akshay said, “Oh you are? Okay, I will address this issue to BMC.” The old man then said, “You just donate the toilet, and I will get it installed.” Akshay laughed as he said, “I have already sponsored it. I will now ask the BMC to get it fixed and maintain it.”


Akshay Kumar had stepped out to vote in Maharashtra Assembly Polls.

Akshay Kumar had sponsored the mobile toilet months after his wife had tweeted about people openly defecating at the Juhu beach. She shared a picture of a man defecating in Versova beach and wrote, “Good morning and I guess here is the first scene of Toilet Ek Prem Katha part 2.”

Confirming the news, Prashant Gaikwad, the municipal commissioner of K-ward told PTI, “We welcomed his initiative and installed the toilet near the Juhu beach four days ago. The actor bore all the expenses, Rs 10 lakh, for setting up the portable toilet”.

He added, “If anyone comes forward to maintain it, then the facility can be provided on a pay-and-use basis.”

Akshay Kumar was recently seen in Rohit Shetty’s cop drama, Singham Again. The actor is currently gearing up for his films, Jolly LLB 3, Welcome To The Jungle, and Hera Pheri 3.
