Despite being extremely controversial, Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal is one of the biggest hits of the year. Actors like Siddhant Karnick and Triptii Dimri, who appear in the film in supporting roles have been defending the film and now actor KP Singh, who plays Ranbir’s cousin in the film, has opened up about some behind-the-scenes details from the making of the film and said that director Sandeep Reddy Vanga would abuse people who would be having fun during the shoot.
Speaking to YouTuber Vanshaj Saxena, KP Singh said that the film was like Vanga’s “baby” and “he knew every little detail of every scene and he would go into the tiniest of details while shooting.” He added that Sandeep would be extremely serious during the shoot and if he saw anyone laugh during the shoot, he would get abused by the director. He shared, “Scene ke time pe mazak nahi karte the bilkul bhi. Koi door se bhi hasta hua nazar aa gaya toh unko gaali padti thi. (While shooting a scene he would not be making jokes and all. If he even spotted anyone laughing, he would get abused).”
When asked if Sandeep would get angry at people on the set, KP said, “Daant toh dete the yaar. Daanta bhi acha lagta hai. Tum daant kha rahe ho toh matlab kuch seekh rahe ho (He would scold. Scolding is nice because if you are getting scolded, it means you are learning something).” KP added that when Sandeep was not shooting, he was a lot of fun to hang out with. “He looks serious but he really isn’t. He is quite serious on shoot. He doesn’t like jokes then. Otherwise he would be quite jovial around us,” he said.
KP also shared that the songs ‘Saari Duniya Jalaa Denge’ and ‘Arjan Vaily’ were ready before the shoot and while filming the pre-interval sequence and the climax sequence, the director actually played these songs so the actors could get into the mood of the scene.
Speaking about the long duration of the film, which is over 3 hour 20 minutes, KP said that the OTT version might include all the deleted scenes as well and this could be around 4 hours.
