Iulia Vantur, who has primarily worked as a singer, is now making her debut in the movies with Deepak Tijori’s short film Echoes Of Us. In a recent interview, Iulia was asked about her acting experience and she opened up about the acting tips she received from Salman Khan, who has been supportive of her career in India.
Deepak and Iulia an appearance on Varinder Chawla’s YouTube channel as he shared that he was unsure if Iulia would agree to star in this project. Defending herself, Iulia said, “I mean, it was a great script, and it was an honour working with you (Deepak); why would I say no?” The interviewer then mentioned that Salman Khan, who has been romantically linked with Iulia many times, also supported the film through social media and asked her if she would ever ask him for acting tips. Iulia quickly retorted, “I think he would tell me to act less. He would tell me to not do much and that less is better.”
Deepak added and said, “Yes, that is something Bhatt sahab (Mahesh Bhatt) also teaches you. I think Salman also comes from the school of acting. Not acting is the most difficult part of acting. Knowing when you are going overboard is the best part of the skill.” Deepak also talked about how certain roles hurt him in his career, and while he was trying to be a good friend to people in the industry, many of those films proved to be a “trap”. He said, “This is what our industry does; it typecasts you, and I fell in that trap. Bhatt Sahab tried to break that trap for me, but his brother Mukesh told him that ‘you cannot make a film with Deepak as the lead.’ It was a commercial decision, so I don’t think I hold anything against him.”
Deepak has previously shared that he was in the running for the role of Prem in Maine Pyar Kiya, and that he and Salman were the two finalists zeroed down by Sooraj Barjatya. However, Sooraj chose Salman because the people in his family beleived that his image would work for the generational love story they were trying to make. “He told me that I had performed very well, but since it was a love story, they went ahead with Salman. And I agreed with him. When he told me that women will immediately fall in love with Salman given his looks, I also accepted. I told him, ‘Sir, I am hurt, but at the same time, you are right.’ I was mature enough and never felt that he wronged me, I felt it was justified, so I said okay and walked back,” he shared with Bollywood Bubble.
