Ranbir Kapoor shares a great relationship with his mother, Neetu Kapoor, and in a recent interaction, the Animal actor revealed that his wife, Alia Bhatt, also shares a great rapport with his mother to the point that she is more honest with her than he is. He also spoke about spending time with Alia during the Covid lockdown, which brought them closer and solidified their relationship.
In his chat with Nikhil Kamath, Ranbir talked about the fondness one feels towards a partner who makes an effort to bond with their family, which he appreciates about Alia. He said, “You love your family, and another person who is an outsider is loving your life the way you love your life. Even if it is not real and it is an effort, but it’s an effort. That kind of effort is not easy, and to continue doing it is very rare.”
Speaking about Alia and his mother’s bond, Ranbir added, “It’s very rare that everything falls into place and everyone gets along, so it is always an effort. My mother and Alia share a very good relationship. They are very honest with each other, more honest than I am with my mother. This makes me happy. I am surrounded by women—my mother, my sister, Alia, and now Raha—they are the best women in the world.”
Talking about spending the Covid lockdown with Alia and how she supported him when his father, Rishi Kapoor, was diagnosed with cancer, he said, “We stayed together during Covid. It was the best time; I should not say it, but I really had a good time with Alia. We were together for the entire lockdown. I don’t think we were frustrated with each other; we were healthy and we were training. That really solidified our relationship. And when my father got sick, she was really there. She was there when I was in America. In the hospital, if I was staying, she was staying with me. She has really done a lot for me.”
Ranbir and Alia will share the screen together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love And War, which also stars Vicky Kaushal in the lead role.
