Actor Akshay Kumar’s next film OMG 2 is just a few days away from its theatrical release. Ahead of the big day, the actor recently organised a special screening of the film for Jaggi Vasudev, popularly known as Sadhguru at his Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The actor exchanged words of gratitude with the spiritual guru on social media after the event.
Sadhguru posted a video on social media where he is seen playing frisbee with the actor in a garden as he shared his reaction to the film. Akshay in turn expressed his gratitude towards him for his kind words and called his visit to Isha Yoga centre one of the best experiences he has had. Sadhguru wrote on Twitter, “Namaskaram @akshaykumar. Wonderful having you here at the Isha Yoga Center & learning about ‘Oh My God -2’. Educating young people on how to handle their bodily needs is most essential if we want to cultivate a society that is sensitive to the safety & dignity of its women. It is time our education system focuses on equipping our youth to handle their body, mind & emotions rather than being purely information oriented. -Sg #OMG2. ”

OMG 2’s trailer shows Akshay as messenger of god who comes to Earth to help a devout follower (played by Pankaj Tripathi). The trailer also shows Pankaj fighting a case in the court against his son’s school for wrongful rustication.
The film ran into its share of trouble before getting an ‘A’ certificate by Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with no cuts and 25 modifications. Earlier CBFC had instructed the makers of Amit Rai directorial, to change and remove some scenes. The makers were handed over a list of modifications which included deletion of visuals of frontal nudity and replacing them with suitable visuals of Naga Sadhus. The dialogues that mention alcohol as a form of offering to God are also present in the list of modifications. The list also suggests that the makers remove the poster of a condom ad from the film. The visuals of what is being described as ‘sculptures of unnatural sex’ were also directed to be modified.
The film also received objection from Ujjain’s Mahakaleshwar temple. According to ANI, a priest from the temple demanded that the scenes shot there should be deleted from the film. The priest said, “The censor board has given ‘A’ certificate to the film Oh My God 2. This certification is reserved for films that have adult content. We demand that some scenes, which were filmed at the Mahakal temple, be removed as they might offend the religious sentiments of viewers. If our demand isn’t met, we will launch protests across the country.”
OMG 2, which is a stand-alone sequel of 2012 film OMG, also stars Yami Gautam, Govind Namdev and Arun Govil and will release in theatres on 11 August.
