‘Mukesh Ambani told me your baba is married,’ recalls Anant Ambani’s childhood nurse Lalita DSilva; shares how she started working with Ambanis

Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s lavish wedding was one of the most-talked about events of the year, mostly because of its star-studded guest list from around the world. However, one person, who is not really a celebrity but was among the most special guests was Anant Ambani’s childhood nurse Lalita D Silva. The pediatric nurse recently revealed the kind of bonding she shared with the Ambani family and the love she gets from Anant, Akash and Shloka.

In an interview with Hindi Rush, Lalita shared that she was referred to the Ambani household by a friend of Mukesh Ambani. She said, “Anant Ambani is my first child. After I received a call, I casually went to the Ambanis’ house. I received a very warm welcome. This was around 1996. They asked me a few questions and I answered it all.” Expressing her love for Anant, Lalita said, “I never saw Anant as an Ambani child. I treat them all equally. Their parents were also quite normal towards us. I have been strict with them, but it has always been motherly love.”

Lalita also expressed how Anant is still warm and loving whenever he meets her. She said that if she ever runs into his at a crowded temple, he still makes sure that he meets her and gives her a hug. “Every Tuesday I visit Siddhivinayak, and if I see him, despite him being surrounded by thousands of people, if I call out his name, he just turns and gives me a hug,” she said.

Sharing how Anant was a child, Lalita said that he wasn’t interested in “materialistic gift” but would only ask his parents for money so he could buy an animal and take care of it. “He would always say, ‘give me money, I will buy an animal and save it. He has been an animal lover since childhood. I still feel nostalgic every time I speak about him. I have spent more time with him compared to my son,” she said and added, “I always tear up when we talk about Anant Ambani’s wedding. I have been invited to all Ambani wedding, be it Akash or Shloka. Everybody who works for them gets immense respect, but I get some extra love.”

Talking about the wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, Lalita said, “I can’t tell you how the entire family was overjoyed at the wedding. Soon after Anant and Radhika tied the knot, Mukesh sir told to me in excitement, ‘Lata, your baba is married.’ I was so thrilled to hear it. It was a priceless moment when I went to meet Anant at his wedding.”

Lalita said that she was a nurse to Anant for 12 years and still cherishes those memories.
