Veteran actors Mithun Chakraborty and Yogita Bali’s son Mimoh Chakraborty made his debut in the movies with the 2008 film Jimmy but as soon as the film released, his performance and the film were both panned by the audience and the critics. In a recent chat, Mimoh recalled that the family was going through a tough time emotionally after Jimmy’s release and he was quite angered when a comedy show made jokes directed at his mother because of Mimoh’s failure.

Mimoh toh Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel, “There was a comedy show where someone said that after watching Mimoh’s film it feels like that ‘Yogita ki yogyata mein problem ho gayi‘.” This joke really angered the actor and he said, “I said ‘don’t speak about my mom. Okay, dad is from the industry, he is a legend. What has mom done to you? There is a moral code that you don’t speak about someone’s mother. Dad is okay, you can. I said you can mock me, you can laugh at my dad at my expense also, but why my mother?”

Mimoh also spoke about the time when he read some really harsh words about himself in a film review after Jimmy’s release. “I remember after Jimmy’s release, I was devastated when a review read that Mimoh Chakraborty isn’t even fit enough to be a junior artist,” he said.

When asked if his parents ever cried after his debut film failed, Mimoh replied in the affirmative and said, “Mom, me and dad, all of us cried. All of us had a breakdown. Now I am just talking about it but back then, it was very hurtful.”

After Jimmy, Mimoh appeared in films like Haunted 3-D and Enemmy. He recently appeared in Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Neha Sharma starrer Jogira Sara Rara.
