Salman Khan Eid’s release for 2023, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, has performed well on the third day of its release. The Farhad Samji directorial minted an impressive Rs 26.61 crore (net), thanks to the festive and weekend buzz, which seems to be working in favour of Bhai. With this, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan box office collection for the first weekend stands at Rs 68.17 crore. The movie has already crossed the coveted Rs 100 crore mark globally, with its current number being Rs 112.8 crore (gross).

The film showed an increase of five per cent at the ticket counter from its previous day, where it had earned Rs 25.75 crore, after its first day gross of Rs 15.8 crore.

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan had a Hindi occupancy of over 28 per cent on Sunday, reported Sacnilk, with the masses going primarily for evening and night shows. Now only the crucial and telling Monday test of the ensemble feature will tell us if the winning streak of this family entertainer will continue at the ticket counter.

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is said to be the Hindi remake of the Tamil feature Veeram, which starred Ajith in the lead role. Veeram was declared a box office success in its time. However, just like Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, Veeram was not liked by critics much. But the fact that the Hindi adaptation has been earning big bucks at the box office is a relief for Bollywood, which has not had much success with South remakes in recent past (read Kartik Aaryan’s Shehzada and Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi’s Selfiee); Ajay Devgn and Tabu’s Drishyam 2 being one of the only exceptions in case.

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan did not sit well with most film critics, with The Indian Express’ Shubhra Gupta giving it one star and calling it ‘tired and unimaginative.’

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan also stars Pooja Hegde, Shehnaaz Gill, Raghav Juyal and Palak Tiwari among others in pivotal roles.
