Actor Saif Ali Khan is currently recovering in Mumbai’s Lilavati hospital after a stabbing incident a few days ago. After the unfortunate incident, his wife and actor Kareena Kapoor Khan shared a statement on social media, requesting privacy from media during the difficult period for the family. However, Kareena had to call out paps on January 20.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, the actor reshared a now-deleted video and wrote, “Stop this now. Have a heart. Leave us alone. For God’s sake,” along with two folded hands emoticons. In the video, a few people can be seen bringing toy cars into Kareeena-Saif’s residence. The text on the clip read, “New toys arrive for Taimur and Jeh at their residence.” The thumbnail of the video also had a picture of Saif with Taimur and Jeh.

Kareena Kapoor visited Saif Ali Khan with their kids Taimur and Jeh Ali Khan on Sunday. Other family members, including his sister Soha Ali Khan, and her husband, Kunal Kemmu, and the actor’s mother and veteran actor Sharmila Tagore were also spotted arriving at the hospital earlier.

The man accused of attacking Saif, Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad, was apprehended in Thane on Saturday night. A police officer confirmed to The Indian Express that the suspect reportedly confessed to the crime, saying, “Haan, maine hi kiya (Yes, I did it).”

On Sunday morning, the Mumbai police revealed that preliminary evidence indicated the attacker is a Bangladeshi national without valid Indian identity documents. The accused, a 30-year-old, had allegedly adopted the name Vijay Das after entering India to conceal his identity. He was presented at the Bandra Court on Sunday and has been remanded to police custody for five days.

The attack on Saif Ali Khan occurred during the early hours of last Thursday, during what police have described as a failed robbery attempt. Saif was stabbed six times, sustaining multiple injuries, including two deep wounds on his back—one alarmingly close to his spine—and a minor cut on his neck. The knife caused significant damage, including a thoracic spine injury that led to a spinal fluid leak.
