Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff has often talked about his struggling days before tasting success in the Hindi film industry. In a recent interview, Shroff mentioned that he still gets emotional when he visits his chawl in Mumbai, where he spent 33 years of his life.

In his interview with Siddharth Kannan, the actor shared that he still visits his chawl as he has many emotions attached to it. Shroff shared in Hindi that he recently visited the place, celebrated the birthday of an 89-year-old lady, and met his old buddies and other people. The actor added that he spent 33 years of his life there, and thus, he will always have a special place in his heart for the chawl.

In the interview, ‘Jaggu Dada’ was also asked about his trademark style of wearing a scarf on his hand and neck. On being asked the inspiration behind it, Jackie Shroff shared in his style that he likes handkerchiefs and has a fondness for ‘bandhani’. “Maa ki saare ko aise pakad k aise padde rehte the toh mujhe shanti milti thi, toh soft kapado ki aadat ho gyi and ki thoda sa soft kapda ho sath (I used to love to hold my mother’s saree, that gave me a lot of peace, and probably I got addicted to it).”

He added, “Bandhani as a colour, bandhani ke jo three colour hote hain wo mujhe bachpan se hi pasand hai. Wo Rangeela picture me bhi use kiye hoon mai. Baki toh samamjhiye Dev saab (Dev Anand) ka bada fan hoon mai (I like bandhani since my childhood and used it in my film Rangeela too. Rest, I am also Dev saab’s fan).” Shroff also hummed some lines from Dev Anand starrer Teen Deviyan’s song “Kahin Be Khayal Ho Kar”.

Jackie Shroff will next be seen in Baap, also starring Sanjay Dutt, Sunny Deol and Mithun Chakraborty in the lead roles. The makers are yet to announce the release date of the film.
