Hollywood is something most Indian actors aspire to reach but not Manoj Bajpayee. The Aligarh actor is certain that he will make no desperate or extra efforts to find work in the West. And he is honest in admitting that he doesn’t have the financial muscle to fly down to USA and spend time and money there scouting for an agent.
In an exclusive conversation with IndianExpress.com, the Aligarh actor said, “I don’t have money to fly down to LA and spend one month looking for an agent. I don’t have energy left in me. Here people are offering me good roles and good films. Instead of keeping myself busy with great roles here, why should I fly to LA and try something in darkness. That is not advisable. I don’t want to undermine my audience who has given me so much of love here.”
Manoj is clear that he will no go out of his way to find work in Hollywood. “I will do it if something falls in my lap. I will not be making any extra effort to do films in the west. I don’t have money. My films don’t pay me that much. My films only pay me only so much that helps me in maintaining a good life in India for myself and my family,” reasoned Manoj.
The actor revealed that he was offered a few roles in the past but he never accepted them. “Some casting directors keep sending it to me. I am not boasting. I have received a few offers not many few. But I didn’t like them.”
