Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is one of the most beloved films of recent times. The film starred Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol, and Hrithik Roshan in lead roles. In an old interaction, Hrithik revealed that he almost rejected Zoya Akhtar’s film and credited his ex-wife Sussanne Khan for convincing him to accept the offer.
An old clip of Hrithik, speaking to Preity Zinta on her show Close and Personal, has gone viral. In the clip, Hrithik mentioned how Zoya insisted that his then-wife Sussanne be present during the film’s narration to ensure that he didn’t turn it down. Recalling the incident, Hrithik said, “When Zoya came to my house, she had a very important condition and the condition was that she wanted Sussanne to be there.”
Hrithik Roshan added, “If she were not there during the narration, I probably would not have done the film.” Explaining how Sussanne’s encouragement pushed him, he said, “I loved the story. I said, this is a film that must be made. And Sussanne was there, you know, doing the nudge that, you know, you should do this and then I could not say no.”
In Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Hrithik played the role of a man with a high-paying corporate job, chasing money while neglecting his personal life. He eventually goes on a boys’ trip with his school friends, and after meeting Katrina Kaif’s character, undergoes a transformation as he discovers true love.
Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan tied the knot in 2000 and became parents to two sons, Hrehaan and Hridhaan. However, their marriage didn’t last and they divorced in 2014. Despite their separation, the two remain friends and continue to co-parent their children. After the divorce, Hrithik started dating actor Saba Azad, while Sussanne is in a relationship with Arslan Goni.
