After a month of accidentally shooting himself in the leg, Bollywood actor Govinda stepped out of his house to cast his vote in the ongoing Maharashtra Assembly Elections. Videos and photos of the actor posing for the paparazzi after casting his vote have gone viral on social media. In one of the clips, the Hero No 1 actor can also be seen sharing an update about his health with the photographers.
Govinda wore an all-white outfit as he stepped out to cast his vote. Although he was slightly limping, his overall health seemed fine in the video. When the photographers gathered outside the voting booth asked Govinda about his leg injury and how he was feeling, the actor responded, “Sab accha hai (All is good).” He even joked with the paparazzi when they called him by his nickname, Chi Chi. He said, “Kaahe chichiya rahe ho?” (loosely translated: Why are you chirping?).
In October, Govinda was rushed to a Mumbai hospital after his licensed revolver allegedly misfired, resulting in a bullet wound to his knee. According to the Mumbai Police, the trigger of his licensed gun was accidentally pressed as he was putting it in a cupboard. The actor had to undergo surgery, and the bullet was removed.
Apart from Govinda, several other celebrities were also seen exercising their right to vote. Arjun Kapoor, Kartik Aaryan, Shraddha Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Hema Malini, Esha Deol, and Suniel Shetty were all spotted at various polling booths. After casting his vote, Kartik Aaryan was surrounded by a crowd of fans and reporters. The police officials stationed at the polling booth had to intervene to disperse the crowd and ensure that the Bhool Bhulaiyaa actor could reach his car safely.
Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan also arrived to cast their votes, both wearing white attire. Ranbir Kapoor, as he exited the polling booth after casting his vote, cheerfully said, “Jai Maharashtra” to the paparazzi.
Voting for the single-phase Maharashtra Assembly Elections began at 7 am and will conclude at 6 pm.
