Fukrey 3 hit the box office alongside Vivek Agnihotri’s The Vaccine War, and despite the lukewarm response to the latter, the multi-starrer Fukrey 3 showed promise and had a strong opening weekend.

However, after a successful start and maintaining momentum until Monday, Fukrey 3 has started to lose steam. Early estimates by industry tracker Sachnilk suggest that the film earned approximately Rs 3.65 crore on Wednesday. It had a robust weekend, collecting Rs 11.67 crore, Rs 15.18 crore, and Rs 11.69 crore on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, respectively. However, the film experienced a significant drop in earnings on Tuesday, generating only Rs 4.11 crore. This downward trend continued on Wednesday, resulting in a total collection of Rs 62.93 crore.

In contrast, The Vaccine War has struggled at the box office since its release. On Wednesday, it earned a meager Rs 50 lakh, bringing its total collection to Rs 8.15 crore. In a recent interview with DNA, director Vivek Agnihotri revealed that he kept the film’s budget limited to Rs 10 crore, recognising its limited scope.

“Since I knew its scope is not as much, we made this film in Rs 10 crore. We could have made it bigger, kept the budget at Rs 50 crore. But we cut costs and thankfully Nana cut down heavily on his fees. Many came without accepting money for it, which is how we were able to make it for Rs 10 crore,” he said.

Fukrey 3 is a multi-starrer franchise featuring Richa Chadha, Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, and Manjot Singh in lead roles. The film is produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment and directed by Mrighdeep Lamba.
