The night is young, and two brothers are up to something fishy. Streaming giant Netflix on Monday dropped the trailer of their latest film Friday Night Plan, headlined by Babil Khan. The movie, billed as a “heartwarming tale” of self-discovery and companionship, will mark Babil’s second on-screen project after last year’s acclaimed film Qala.
In Friday Night Plan, Babil, son of late actor Irrfan Khan, will be seen playing the nerdy older brother while his partner-in-crime is his mischievous younger brother, played by Amrith Jayan. The film also features Juhi Chawla in a special appearance.
Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Kassim Jagmagia and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment, Friday Night Plan is directed by Vatsal Neelakantan, who has also co-written it with Sapan Verma.
The over two-minute-long trailer follows the lives of the brothers as they gear up for a “happening party”, which acts as a set up for self-discovery, opening up, coming together and ultimately loving each other. This will be Babil’s first project which he would headline, after Qala where he featured in a supporting role.
In an earlier statement, Babil had stated how having a younger brother in real life made Friday Night Plan an extremely “relatable” film for him. “It’s a heartwarming journey that brings back fond memories of our own misadventures. This is my first outing with Excel Entertainment and also marks my second collaboration with Netflix after Qala, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of this project,” the actor had said.
The movie also stars Medha Rana, Aadhya Anand, Ninad Kamath. Friday Night Plan will release on September 1.
