Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra starrer ‘Brothers’ is all set to hit theatres on the eve of Independence Day and backed by Fox Star Studios and Dharma Productions, the movie does look like a winner at the Box Office. We give you five reasons why you should go and give the movie a dekko.
1. Akshay Kumar
The ‘Khiladi’ is back and this time, with thrice the force, as after ‘Baby’ and ‘Gabbar Is Back’, he would surely be looking for a hat-trick with ‘Brothers’. And since the movie is action-drama, both genres being Akshay’s strengths, he is expected to pack in some real punch to the story.
Sidharth Malhotra Version 2.1, we call it as after ‘Ek Villain’, the ‘chocolate’ faced actor is back to his rogue ways. The audience have loved him in his sweet avatar and loved to hate in the serious avatar, so investing in ‘Brothers’ for Sidharth doesn’t seem that bad a deal. Sidharth has also beefed up for his role in the movie and hence, is looking like a true blue fighter.
3. Music
One of the major striking points of ‘Brothers’ is its music. Ajay-Atul have done a commendable job in composing the score, be it Kareena Kapoor’s item number ‘Mera Naam Mary Hai’ or the soulful romantic number featuring Akshay Kumar and Jacqueline Fernandez ‘Sapna Jahan’.
4. The two ‘Jackkies’
‘Brothers’ sees veteran actor Jackie Shroff in a pivotal role. He plays Akshay and Sidharth’s father in the movie. Also Jacqueline Fernandez plays Akshay aka David’s love interest in the movie and makes a great pair with him. The off screen camaraderie between the whole team has already been the talking point of news scribes and hence, increased the hype surrounding the movie has already increased.
5. k3g with MMA
What makes ‘Brothers’ more interesting is Sidharth’s one line explanation about the movie, that it’s ‘K3g with MMA’. MMA stands for Mixed Martial Arts. It’s a special form of martial arts that can be learned after hard training. Sidharth explained the movie as, “I always explain ‘Brothers’ as ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham’ with Mixed Martial Arts. Like K3G, it’s also a family drama with a background to it. The background is the martial art fight. It’s an action movie, but the family drama content comes first.”
Akshay Kumar was quoted as saying, “We have worked hard for this film. Martial arts need a lot of rehearsal. We practised martial arts for five months before shooting the film. Sidharth didn’t even sign any film during this period but I had to shuffle between two films at that time.”
This does make ‘Brothers’ highly interesting as not only do the characters boast off martial arts, but also uncanny layers to them.
