Esha Deol and husband Bharat Takhtani recently announced that they were separating ‘amicably’ after 11 years of marriage. Esha and Bharat got married in 2012 after years of dating each other. Bharat, as shared by Esha, lived in a joint family all his life and was pampered by his family. In an interview almost a decade ago, she described him as “outgoing yet traditional”.

Esha shared, in an interview with Filmfare, that even though she was always a “protected child” in her house, after meeting Bharat, she did not “feel like a lost soul anymore”. She also mentioned in the same interview, “I realised that he’s someone who’ll be mine and remain loyal.” “There’s more purpose to life, something to look forward to. There’s a companion to hold my hand,” she added.

The Dhoom actor described Bharat Takhtani as “outgoing yet traditional” and shared that “he knows how to keep his family together”. “In a way, he’s like Papa; he knows how to keep his family together. If he can love and care for them, he won’t let me down either. Also, he’s comfortable with my celebrity status. He doesn’t view me as Esha Deol, he knows me as Esha, his friend,” she said. Bharat and Esha first met when they were teenagers in school. They started dating each other in their 20s and got married after being together for a few years.
