After mesmerising his fans in Mumbai, singer-turned-actor Diljit Dosanjh, now riding high on the success of his latest film Amar Singh Chamkila, has created ripples in Canada with a live performance. His Vancouver tour, Dil-Luminati, lit up BC Place stadium on Saturday, delighting his fans. Diljit delivered an unforgettable performance, captivating an astounding crowd of over 54,000.

Dressed to impress in an all-black ensemble, the singer belted out some of his most popular hits, including “GOAT”. As he performed, the audience in the background could be seen hooting and cheering for their beloved artist. The concert at BC Place drew a significant crowd, with hundreds lining up outside the stadium two hours before the event, despite the rainy weather. Fans from different generations eagerly flocked to the venue to witness Diljit’s live performance.

This event not only stood out for its size but also marked a rare occurrence for Punjabi music concerts outside India. Tickets were in high demand, with front-row seats fetching prices ranging from $482.79 to $713.89 on the afternoon of the concert, reported India.com. Other seats commanded even higher prices, highlighting the event’s popularity.

Diljit took to Instagram to share images of his tour preparations. One photo showed him in a black hoodie with white patterns, sitting and writing intensely. The picture featured Diljit working on his lyrics for his performance, showcasing his dedication to giving his fans a great show. “HISTORY HAS BEEN WRITTEN & BC PLACE STADIUM SOLD OUT. DI-LUMINATI TOUR,” he captioned the post.

During his recent performance in Mumbai, the “Lover” hitmaker was seen interacting with fans from the stage and speaking about breaking the Punjabi stereotype. “They said Punjabis aren’t fashionable and I said, I will show you. They said Punjabis can’t act in films, I showed them I could. They said Punjabis can’t go to Mumbai, and I proved them wrong. They said Punjabis can’t sell tickets for the bar arena, I had the stadium packed at my concert. They said Punjabis can’t do Illuminati, I said, I will do ‘Dil-Luminati,” said the actor-singer as he announced his Vancouver concert on April 27.

Meanwhile, Diljit’s Amar Singh Chamkila, which was released on Netflix, immediately earned widespread acclaim. The movie is based on the life of slain Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila. Apart from Diljit, the movie also features Parineeti Chopra, who essays the role of Amarjot Singh, wife of Chamkila.
