Boney Kapoor says he lost 14 kgs, got hair transplant even though Sridevi didn’t want it for him: ‘They said bald people are rich’

Boney Kapoor shared he followed his late wife Sridevi's advice and lost weight before getting a hair transplant done.

Boney Kapoor recently got a hair transplant for which he held a press conference, motivating others to also try the process, calling it harmless under the supervision of his doctors. While addressing the media, the film producer opened up about several aspects of his life and shared how his late wife Sridevi wanted him to focus on weight loss and wasn’t eager about his hair transplant.

Speaking at the Eugenix Hair Sciences press conference, Boney Kapoor shared the reason behind why he delayed hair transplant. He said, “My wife Sri used to tell me, ‘Boney, first lose weight then you can fix your hair. Later, some people told me, bald people are often lucky. They gave examples of Yash Chopra. They would say, ‘Look, Yash Chopra is also bald but so rich.’ So I fell for this and remained bald for quiet some time. Finally, one day, I was convinced to get a hair transplant. In three days, they planted almost 6 thousand hair.”

Boney also added, “After seeing the results, I even suggested it to Akshaye Khanna. People are often scared about the pain, but trust me, it’s not that bad.”

Boney shared before getting the hair transplant done, he lost 14 kgs. He said, “During the process, I remembered my wife’s advise who wanted me to lose weight before the hair transplant, so I went on a diet and lost about 14 kgs and now I am in a better shape. It’s hard for me to exercise, but yet after I shed some weight, I went to the doctor for hair transplant.”

During the same conversation, Boney joked that his wife was against hair transplant, sharing now he knows why. “Even Sri was skeptical about the hair transplant. Just today, I was discussing this with my daughter and asked her, ‘Why was your mom against my hair transplant?’ She said, ‘She thought after it you will become a better looking person.’ This was a secret until today”, shared Boney Kapoor.
