Shah Rukh Khan has a double role in Jawan and hence, twice the hard work. In a video that has surfaced on the internet, the superstar Shah Rukh Khan can be seen learning lines in Tamil to shoot for the Tamil version of the track Zinda Banda, titled Vandha Edham from the mass actioner.
Jawan was released on September 7 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. In the making of the song Zinda Banda, shared by Red Chillies Entertainment, Shah Rukh and director Atlee can be seen engaging in a moment where the filmmaker is helping him say Tamil lines, which the actor can lip-sync.
“When I turn now, I say…,” Shah Rukh asks Atlee as he repeats the Tamil lyrics the filmmaker is saying. What also helps him get the phonetics right are the lyrics written in English, written on a white board next to the camera.
The superstar then rehearses the lines once, complete with choreography before the camera starts rolling. The video then cuts to the original shot, where Shah Rukh seamlessly gets the lip-sync right, as the cast and crew break into applause. Atlee then walks up to Shah Rukh and gives him a hug.
Jawan is Shah Rukh Khan’s first proper pan-India outing, where he has collaborated with cast and crew which predominantly work in the Tamil film industry. From Atlee, actor Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, to music composer Anirudh, lyricist Vivek, director of photography Ruben, among others.
Jawan is Shah Rukh’s second outing of the year after Pathaan, which was also a box office success. After two heavy duty action films, Shah Rukh will be next seen in the comedy drama Dunki, directed by Rajkumar Hirani. The film is scheduled to release on December 22.
