Actor Archana Puran Singh’s trip to her hometown, Dehradun, has given her fans multiple stories involving her husband, Parmeet Sethi, her sons and her future daughter-in-law, Yogita Bihani. In a recent vlog, Archana went around the city trying the aloo puri at different places to determine which one is the best. The family went to three particular spots that are famous for the dish in question, which were all quite contrasting to each other in terms of ambiance and price.
The family first visited an upscale restaurant called Anandam to try the dish, and it impressed all of them. Parmeet and Ayushmaan lauded the cooks for using the minimal amount while making the “healthy” puris. “This aloo puri is one of the best I have had,” said Parmeet as the family took a trip to another location for the same dish. This one was quite different from the first place and had a much simpler infrastructure. Parmeet took one look at the place and said, “Whenever I come to these places, these dhabas (local eateries), for some reason I feel very comfortable. I instantly get the feeling that they will have great food, and I love such places.” Ayushmaan and Archana agreed with him and said that Dhabas have the best food.
While travelling from one eatery to another, Archana encountered some fans who wanted a picture with her. The fans greeted her with the utmost respect and thanked her for stopping and taking photos with them. Archana got emotional right after this and said, “You feel so good when you visit your hometown and people shower you with so much love. When you leave these places for cities like Mumbai to make a name for yourself, you don’t realise what you have done till you come back. That little girl who left Dehradun to build a career is now loved by the people from her city, and they think of her as one of their own. Hometowns and the people there are so special.”
Ayushmaan consoled her and said, “You have made it, Mom; you don’t have to cry.” The actor said that she gets emotional very quickly, to which Ayushmaan replied, “You should use those emotions and become an actor. Acting is a good career option for you.” Archana quickly shut him up and said, “Chup Bewakoof” (Shut up, idiot).
The family went to another restaurant that had been established in 1901, where Archana continued talking about the nice people of the city. Parmeet butted in and said, “If all the people of this city have such nice qualities, what happened to you? I want a refund; an exchange works too.”
