Aamir Khan recently appeared at the 4th Season of Ajivasan Act in Mumbai. Several photos and videos of the actor at the event went viral on social media. While his singing performance won many hearts, it was his sudden weight gain that caught many eyeballs. For the event, Aamir wore a printed blue kurta and trousers. A clip of Aamir on the stage was reshared on a Reddit sub, with fans expressing their concern for him. In a recent interview, he revealed that the cause behind the weight gain is his ‘steroid treatment’ for ‘migraines’.
In the comments section of the post, a worried fan wrote “It’s sad but the Khans are really old now and these will just increase with time. Hopefully his health issues are nothing serious.” “This happens to a lot of us and it’s really difficult when the medicine is essential but the side effect really kicks in as well. And with him past 60, it becomes even more difficult to contend with,” another person commented. “He doesn’t need to give explanations for his weight gain.. Amir, srk, salman, akshay are around the age of 60 .. we should give them a break and stop body shaming, and let them live and relax. They earned it,” a comment read.

Many people suspected that the actor bulked up for his next project, a biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke. However, he opened up about the real reason behind the weight gain to Deccan Chronicle. “I have been having migraines for some time, and for that I need to be on steroid treatment. That causes me to put on weight, I can’t help it. In fact, I’ve started my diet and workout because I need to get back into shape for whatever my next film is,” he shared.
When asked if Aamir’s condition has been treated, he added, “No, because they’re not able to figure out why it’s happening. The steroid is taking the headaches away. But I can’t keep taking steroids. Sometimes, you know, it’s difficult to diagnose exactly why things are happening. I understand it’s complicated.”
On the work front, Aamir Khan last starred in RS Prasanna’s Sitaare Zameen Par. It was a spiritual sequel to his 2007 film Taare Zameen Par.
